Turkey

Marion cooked a small turkey for dinner with friends last Friday, meaning that we had warmed up turkey dinner on Saturday & a bunch of left over turkey in the fridge.

On Monday we made turkey soup & a couple of turkey pies then today we made jewelled turkey squares.

Marion's mother used to make jewelled turkey squares after Thanksgiving & Christmas & the whole family loved them. Unfortunately Mom remembered we all loved them but over the years she forgot how to make them :) Every year it seemed they got smaller & more tasteless but every year she kept inviting us in because she knew how much we all enjoyed them.

Anyway Marion found the original recipe (which it seemed her mother never bothered to consult) a couple of years ago & yes we really do love them.

Although Marion & I have always shared the cooking duties in the home usually only one of us is in the kitchen at one time - we don't often cook together.

The last couple of days we have & its been a lot of fun but its amazing how different our styles are:)
