I've been reading through the new testament in the Message recently.
I love some of the word pictures it paints:
Romans 16:20
"...before you know it the God of Peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt"
I'm kind of surprised you read the message - while the passage you share is neat, I am almost always distracted by the message when I am reading it. I find I end up flipping back to a "real" version to verify what it says.
I find I can actually read large sections (multiple chapters even whole books)of the message at a sitting. With my niv study bible I tend read a portion of a chapter then read the commentary, then look at the references - might be a good way to do a bible study but it takes forever to get anywhere.

I like the "tend to your own knitting" in Romans 14:10 (ish) ... always hard to tell the exact verse number in the Message. :)
