Last night at Alpha was great.
One of the guys at my table is a great guy, willing & ready to help at anytime & a regular attender of the church for years but could best described as "married to a christian".
He is doing the Alpha course with his teenage son at his wife's urging, I'm sure.
He openly admits he doesn't read the bible & has never prayer out loud.
Last night during a discussion when I used "saved" & "born again" in the same sentence he asked what exactly those terms meant to me personally which opened up a very good discussion at the table.
Our next session is on the Holy Spirit & he has promised us (& his son will hold him to it) to read John & the first section of Acts to give him some background - a huge break through, I think.
The second teenage boy at my table was really interested in my study bible. He had not seen that type of bible before with all the maps and notes. No one had ever shown him how to use a concordance to do a bible study on a concept or word. He was excited st the possibilities. I have an extra NIV study bible around I think I will bring it to him next week.

That's really awesome. :) We've had some meaningful breakthrough moments at our Alpha too on Sunday nights. I even got to be a part of one of them!
:)
great news :)
