Neighbour

We found out yesterday that Stan, our neighbour two doors down, died on Tuesday.

So this afternoon we are off to a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall.
I've never been to any type of JW service before - should be interesting.
Just to make sure we stand out our obviously Muslim neighbour asked if she could come with us as her husband is too ill to attend & she doesn't want to go by herself.

Stan was within a few days of his 98th birthday - we were talking last night about how much the world would have changed before his eyes.

Stan was 61 before he married and became a father.
His daughter has three young children & even at the end Stan apparently delighted in letting the hospital staff know they were his grandchildren not his great-grandchildren as most would suspect.

He was a nice man who wandered the neighbourhood looking for conversation - I'll miss him.
