Last Tuesday evening I was part of a group that removed everything from a small PAOC church in Komoka just outside of London. We moved everything: (pews, chairs, sound equipment, pulpit, books) if it wasn't part of the building we tossed it onto the truck.
Kind of sad to see a church shut down & the building sold, Although quite small, it was very clean & well maintained - someone was proud of their building & who it represented.
Quite a long night though.
We left Waterdown at 5:30 & I got back home about 2:30.
Our journey took us first to Paris where we picked up a cube van & a trailer, then it was off to Komoka.
After loading everything up we then went from Komoka to Braeside Camp where we unloaded everything.
Then it was back to Paris to return the van & trailer before finally heading homeward.
Good thing about an evening like that is getting to know a couple of the guys better. A better environment than a church meeting to actually know the real person.
At least I am retired & got to sleep in the next morning - everyone else had to get up for work the next day :)
Except Jason, who I don't think ever got to bed - after dropping me off at my car around 2 AM he went back to Paris to comfort a family in distress. He got home around 5:30 & I know he had a 6:30 breakfast meeting.
