King's Buffet

As most of you know last Saturday was our 40th wedding anniversary and the kids arranged an open house for us at CF.
Instead of gifts we requested people to bring non-perishable food for a food bank.
We had a wonderful afternoon & collected quite a bit of food - thank you everyone who contributed.

I had made reservations for the 10 of us after the open house at the King's Buffet a new restaurant at the corner of Centennial & Barton. Mrv & I had been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

We arrived at 6:25 all proud of ourselves for arriving on time, to find the lobby just crowded with people. My son-in-law checked with the desk and was told "10 or 15 minutes".
During the next 30 minutes I checked twice & was told "soon -very soon".

After 45 minutes mrv decided to visit the manager & within 5 minutes we were seated at a table.
We should have sent her up the first time :)

Apparently the restaurant completely miscalculated the length of time the earlier large groups would take to eat so they had no large tables for the later parties.

Good food at this place but stay away on the weekends.

Happy Belated Anniversary to you and MRV. Good you blogged about it, otherwise I wouldn't have known. Forty years is a rarity in the secular world. Are'nt you glad you're just a sojourner ? I am.
Blessings

I always wonder what restaurants do when people stay longer than expected. I get annoyed if they push me to leave - and yet I am also annoyed if my table isn't ready because someone else won't leave.

Good thing I'm not in the restaurant business.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

i've driven past the King's Buffet ... have not yet gone in. Perhaps it will be worth a visit (but not on a weekend) ...
