We just came back from a couple of days at the Irish Mountain B&B in Meaford (between Owen Sound & Collingwood).
The weather could have co-operated a little better but it was nice to get away & the B&B was amazing -their view of Georgian Bay was voted 8th best B&B view in North America. (http://www.irishmountain.net/)
As this was our first B&B experience we wanted to make sure it was nice & we had plenty of privacy including our own bathroom - I can't imagine sharing a bathroom with people I don't know. Bob (our son-in-law) found the place somehow & surprised Chrissy with a weekend there. So we knew it was a very nice place. Each unit has its own completely private 2 person hot tub out on your deck.
The breakfasts were so huge we didn't eat lunch either day:)
We left Zoe at her doggy spa but the B&B owners have a German Shepard named Zoe who looks exactly like our Zoe - what are the odds?? They also are pet friendly with a 2500 sq. ft. dog run - maybe next time we'll take our Zoe.
John (the owner) has large sailboat he loves to take his guests out on. Mrv wasn't too crazy about the idea and as it happened the weather didn't allow sailing on Thursday - maybe next time I can talk her into trying it out.
We aren't hikers but there are many many trails in the area & I gather many of the people staying in the B&B are there for the hiking. John & Bobbi (his wife) are able to recommend trails that match your hiking abilities and experience. Listening to them was very interesting as they are both avid hikers and have travelled the world to pursue their passion.

Glad you had a good time. You need to get away once in a while to experience a change of pace. That's beautiful country up there. My daughter and son-in-law own a B&B in that area--on the Beaver Valley Road just outside of Flesherton. They belong to the Association in the area. They also help to maintain the Bruce Trail and are avid hikers, skiers, bikers, golfers. I have ridden the rail trails on my trike with them between Meaford and Collinwood several times. Might be up there again over the Aug.1st holiday.
That looks very nice. We stayed in one in Whiarton that was very similiar. Their units were set up like a motel. Not part of the main house at all. Very private. We ate in the house though. You could cook your own food on a BBQ if you wanted to? Why would anybody do that at a B&B? They also had a friendly German Shepherd. It's nice to get away every once in a while. I love thar area. Beautiful scenery. Like Don G said, my sister runs a B&B up there. Theirs are rented out seasonally. Not by the night. Alot of skiers go up there.
Mmmmm, sounds sooooo nice.
it was incredible :) glad you guys liked it, too!
