We took out pews & puplits, cleaned, washed walls, taped woodwork for painting, hung a new sign & cleaned up a disgusting alleyway.
Most of the "usual suspects" were there - you know the ones who turn up for everything.
All Roy or Patti have to do is turn on the lights & there they are :)
But what blew me away was who else showed up !!
- 2 Mikes - both of whom are new to the church. One of them had just finished a 12 hour night shift & was waiting for Patti to open up the church at 8AM. He had all the pews unscrewed from the floor before the rest of us showed up.
- Pastor Beyene - the Ethiopian pastor whose church meets at CF
- Andy Busa brought 3 guys who are part of his upcoming missions trip
- 2 ladies new to Canada & CF who cleaned all morning
- Will - also very new to the church
- Karen & Dwayne - Patti & Jeff's friends who came down from Toronto to help

Sorry I missed it. Started out with good intentions - got as far as King & Sherman on my bike. The heat was a bit much and the saddle chafed my butt: so, I turned around and went home - too late to return by car. Had hoped to get a few pictures--hope someone did. Glad it went well.

Yesterday WAS awesome, and you're right Bob - I was surprised at who came out too. Very happily surprised, I might add! I liked that there were more than "the usual suspects" - great phrase, btw.
Cool! Normally I would have been there, but had a test from 8:30am until 12:00pm and then had to go to work until 12:00am. There will be more to do I am sure.
