Nothing looked out of place at my desk which surprised me because the usual prank (started by me) when someone is away is to turn everything on their desk upside down.
I quickly discovered my "friends" had spent a lot of the previous 2 weeks thinking of things to do to me that wouldn't be immediately obvious:
- May was missing from my desk calendar
- May was scotch taped to April on the wall calendar
- my work shoe laces are completely in knots
- my mouse pad was hidden
- the release button on my phone was taped down so that when I picked up the reciever there was no dial tone
- there was white guck all over the inside of the phone reciever
- my mouse was hidden in my work shoes
- the loading station for my laptop was taped up so that the laptop would not fit into it
- the internet cable was pulled slightly out of its socket
- the buttons on the phone (message, conference call, call forward etc) were changed around
- my lab coat now has one sleeve and one pocket sewed shut
They tell me I have yet to find all the things they did but at this point I think they are jsut pulling my chain.

Wow, that's FUNNY! The most annoying one, I think, is "internet cable pulled slightly out of its socket".
How many times did you try to access, and then mutter about stupid computers and stupid cable companies, before you figured it out?
Hey Bob, by your own admission, I think the rule of " do unto others as you would be did by " applies here. ( Remember Paul Hanover, Mayor of the Morning On CHML ??) It is funny though. How long will it take to get back into working order ??
I think it's " Do unto others before they do unto you!" Isn't there something about sewing and reaping? It's the quiet silent types you have to watch. Sounds like your friends are very creative. You could start a new episode on Discovery Channel!
The internet cable took me awhile to find but the worst (best) one was the tape on the loading station.
The station is black so they used black tape to hold down a button on the side that allows you to dock your laptop.
I knew they had done something but could not figure out what.
After about 30 minutes they felt sorry for me (or grew bored with watching me ) and showed me what they had done.
I'm away again next week and then Lynna (the cake lady & main instigator) is away for a week so we are currently in discussions as to whether we call a truce or escalate the level of fun(?).
that's creative! hah.
oh man ...
i go on vacay starting friday at 5pm ...
i hope i don't come back to stuff like this! :)
BOB ... regarding your note on my blog ... i'm what one would term HYPER-phlegmatic. if you can actually put HYPER and PHLEGMATIC together. in other words, i've been deliquent.
I have a photo day planned with a fellow shutter-bug. I will post to the blog. perhaps i'll do a photo a day. :)
I vote for escalating on both sides.
Makes for great posts.
Heh, I'm no fun, because I would have been more upset than anything at that having been done to my work space. I'm tedious about how I keep my office space.
Dan - here you would be the perfect target.
That's how all this started - Lynna was so fussy about her desk area we just had to screw with it.
If she had reacted in anger - we would have just thought it was funnier.
Bob - I notice you have a new pic. Should we start calling you "Fat Tony"? Isn't that who that is??
hahahahaha!!!!!!!!
Go Lynna - get your revenge!!
