Las Vegas

Day One: up at 6 AM -leave the house by 7
At Buffalo airport by 8:30 for a short hop to Cleveland.
Small plane (dash 8) and very nice trip.
Cleveland to Las Vegas - not so good.
We found out those of us who book through expedia get the last choice of seating - not good
All 3 of us in middle seats - with her claustrophobia mrv doesn't do middle seats well - it was a long 4 hours : )
When we got to Las Vegas we found that Dollar Rent a Car did not have the full sized car we reserved so they offered us a Dodge Durango - a rather large SUV - which we took.
Our condo unit is great - almost new and very nice.
We had dinner at Fridays, visited the casino at the Sahara across the road from our condo and retired early - a long day.

Day Two: Decided to drive out to Lake Havasu City in Arizona. Its about a three hour drive through the desert and is home to the original London Bridge.
The desert was very interesting to drive through - lots of changes in vegetation and different rock formations to see.
Lake Havasu City turned our to be pretty much of a disappointment - not much there at all other than the bridge stuck on one end of a man-made lake. A saleslady told us all the snow birds had gone home and their season was over.
Stopped at Laughlin - a small group of casinos about 90 minutes outside of Las Vegas. Enjoyed a buffet diner and gambled a bit before heading home.
One problem both mrv and Aunt Barb have a hard time getting in & out of the Durango.

Day Three: Up early & head for the rental place to exchange the car. They give me a Dodge Magnum - mrv is much happier :)
While I'm doing that mrv calls Continental Airlines and arranges to have all three of us sitting together.
mrv is happy she has a window seat. Barb is happy she has an aisle seat. I'm still in the middle : )
We drive out to Primm at the California state line - 2 or 3 small casinos & a large outlet mall.
We stop at a new casino just outside of town - very nice - not too busy or smoky.
Ate diner at a prime rib place - excellent.
Finished the day at the Rio.

Sounds like a lot of fun. You picked the right time to be in a warm climate. We're back down to single digit temperature here. They're talking about 19 degrees by Saturday----but----with rain.
How's the price of gas down there? We hit 1.26 last week-end. Had the monthly intercession prayer to-night---in King Street Baptist---8 of us in attendance.

You're making me hungry, all that fine dining you are doing. I would pass on the gambling part. I'm not very lucky. I would like the shows thay have. If you go to some, let us know how they are.

Vegas! Sounds like fun! I'd not much enjoy the bright lights and busy hustle, but it still sounds like the place to be!
