The following passage is one of those that just grabbed me when I read it.
I marked it & go back & ponder it every now & then.
Tonight was one of those times.
"My fear was now of another kind. I felt sure that the creature was what we call "good", but I wasn't sure whether I liked "goodness" so much as I had supposed. This is a terrible experience. As long as what you are afraid of is something evil, you may still hope that the good may come to your rescue. But suppose you struggle through to the good and find that it also is dreadful? How if food itself turns out to be very thing you can't eat, and home the very place you can't live, and your comforter the person who makes you uncomfortable? Then, indeed, there is no rescue possible: the last card has been played.

Nights Again
yuck !!
back on 12 hour nights again - at least there is only 4 this time :)
my own fault I guess - I let it be known I don't mind nights (no bosses around ) & I can sleep well during the day. Everyone else complains like crazy if they are asked to work nights - so I think its a case of supervision taking the path of least resistance.
usually they keep us pretty busy but this time the problem may be boredom - only about half the samples they normally take - I'd rather be busy.
this supposed to be the last campaign for awhile. We'll see - I think this is my 4th "last campaign".
on a positive note - our lab aced its initial ISO 17025 audit last week. The audit report stated we were one of the best prepared labs he had ever seen for an initial audit.
Means a lot to me because I was hired 3 years ago with a mandate of getting us ready for accreditation. Even though I thought we were ready you never really know until someone else looks at your system.
