Its very strange this afternoon at work - I'm the only one left on the second floor. There were some others around this morning but they seem to have disappeared.
There are some maintenance people scurrying about on the ground floor but only me up here.
After lunch I went for a walk downstairs and made sure there were other cars in the parking lot. I was worried "they" had told everyone to go home at noon but had forgotten about their lone worker on the second floor.
Usually there are at least 20 worker bees in the various labs on this floor and untold supervisory types either in their offices doing whatever it is they do or wandering the halls seeking other supervisory types to converse with in hushed tones.
I think I'll go now and find a maintenance guy to talk to for awhile before heading home myself.
Merry Christmas & a happy New Year to you all.

Christmas
Yes - its that time of year again.
The struggle to find the perfect Christmas gift for the pastor has begun.
This year though the problem is solved - see the blog Stuff Christians Like
I'm getting Roy #4 & Patti #1 (or was it the other way around ?)

King's Buffet
As most of you know last Saturday was our 40th wedding anniversary and the kids arranged an open house for us at CF.
Instead of gifts we requested people to bring non-perishable food for a food bank.
We had a wonderful afternoon & collected quite a bit of food - thank you everyone who contributed.
I had made reservations for the 10 of us after the open house at the King's Buffet a new restaurant at the corner of Centennial & Barton. Mrv & I had been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it.
We arrived at 6:25 all proud of ourselves for arriving on time, to find the lobby just crowded with people. My son-in-law checked with the desk and was told "10 or 15 minutes".
During the next 30 minutes I checked twice & was told "soon -very soon".
After 45 minutes mrv decided to visit the manager & within 5 minutes we were seated at a table.
We should have sent her up the first time :)
Apparently the restaurant completely miscalculated the length of time the earlier large groups would take to eat so they had no large tables for the later parties.
Good food at this place but stay away on the weekends.
